Botox

After years of squinting, laughing, frowning, smoking, and worrying, the skin around the eyes, forehead, and lips often develop deep expression lines and wrinkles, that may make you appear older, tired or stressed. Clinicians, such as our staff here in Longview, have been using BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® as a treatment to correct visible signs of stress and aging.

Botox is a simple injection treatment used to improve moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people 18 to 65. It is the only treatment of its kind to be approved by the FDA. BOTOX® is an extremely safe procedure and can minimize frown lines for up to 4 months. In clinical trials, 90% of men and women reported an improvement of “moderate to better” in the appearance of frown lines. This non-invasive procedure has no downtime and will show a noticeable improvement within days.  Botox is available right here in Longview, don't make a trip to Portland!

What to expect during your BOTOX® treatment?

No anesthesia is required. However, you can choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. We will administer a few injections of BOTOX® Cosmetic directly into the muscles that cause moderate to severe frown lines.

What to Expect after your Botox treatment?

No downtime is needed–you’re ready to get on with your day! You will receive specific aftercare instructions and side effects are minimal. Typical side effects include localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding and bruising. We recommend you schedule the treatment two weeks before any big event.

BOTOX® Can Help with Chronic Migraines

Did you know that BOTOX® is approved for the treatment of chronic migraines? If medication isn't doing the trick, whether over-the-counter or prescribed, then BOTOX® may be a great option! By injecting BOTOX® into specific targeted areas, frequency of migraines and their severity may decrease. The signals in the pathway that sends pain from migraines are blocked, which may help your headache feel a little less severe or possibly disappear.

BOTOX® Can Help with Severe Sweating – Called Hyperhidrosis

Did you know that BOTOX® is FDA-approved for hyperhidrosis? If underarm sweating is significantly interfering with your daily activities and topical agents haven’t worked, you may be a candidate for Botox treatment. A BOTOX® neurotoxin is injected into the affected areas to help control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves hat stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops.
