Eclipse MicroPen®

What is automated microneedling?

Automated microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy or CIT) is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine that can help treat the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, and the skin’s overall appearance. During this procedure, the Eclipse MicroPen® is used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. Automated micro-needling also creates superficial micro-channels that can be used with topical gels, creams, and serums to help improve the appearance of the skin. Eclipse MicroPen® is the most advanced medical-grade automated micro-needling device on the market. This is a pain-free, no downtime procedure.

What Are The Benefits of Microneedling?

The benefits of microneedling can include a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and younger-looking skin with fewer signs of aging. Eclipse MicroPen® can also have a positive effect on the appearance of hyperpigmentation and hypo-pigmentation, acne scars, traumatic scars and stretch marks and create a fresher appearance or glow to the skin. It also promotes collagen production.

Furthermore, Microneedling is safe and effective in treating:

  • Scars caused by Acne, Chickenpox, trauma or surgery

  • Age spots or sun spots

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Uneven Skin Tone

  • Reduces the appearance of large pores

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Dull Skin

Which Areas of The Body Can I Treat?

Eclipse MicroPen® can safely be used on all parts of the body including:

  • Face

  • Neck

  • Decollete

  • Arms

  • Hands

  • Legs

  • Abdomen

  • Back

How Is the Procedure Done?

The procedure takes 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the area treated. At the start of the procedure, a topical anesthetic may be applied to the treated area, such as numbing cream, to ensure for a more comfortable procedure. Once the cream has taken effect, the Micropen will be utilized to gently glide across the surface of the skin, creating tiny micro-channels within the top layer of the skin. These micro-channels are what cause the body to begin the healing process, delivering radiant, healthy skin and a vibrant glow. However, you are unlikely to notice them post-treatment as they are very small. A calming serum may be applied to the treated area at the end of the treatment.

What Is The Downtime Like?

Immediately after the treatment, you will notice a bright redness to the skin.

The total healing time depends on the Eclipse MicroPen® setting used and the number of overlapping passes your skincare professional performs. On average, patients are red up to 2 to 4 days. Some clients heal completely in as little as 24 hours. Utilizing the Eclipse Dermal Recovery System™, or other quality skin care products, provided by your skincare provider, can help to speed up the post-care process.

When Will I See The Results?

Clients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results continue to improve up to 6 months after the treatment as collagen production continues.

Additional results of Microneedling may include:

  • Improved skin texture

  • Diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

  • Stimulates tissue regeneration

  • Minimizes enlarged pores

  • Reduces the appearance of scars caused by acne, injury, surgery or trauma

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Some clients only require a single treatment, once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most clients to receive a series of 2-3 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. For clients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars, your skin care provider may recommend 6-8 sessions at 6-week intervals.

How Is MicroPen™ Different From Dermal Rollers?

Automated microneedling devices move in a vertical direction for better precision when treating the skin. Manual needle rollers do not create a precise vertical action and many of these rollers are made from inferior metals which are not smooth and it is impossible to sterilize them at home. The lack of precision and sterilization issues can contribute to inconsistent effects on the skin, plus the risk of infection when the skin is not antiseptically cleansed.

How Is MicroPen™ Different From Lasers?

Eclipse MicroPen™ breaks up pigment mechanically instead of with light (heat) and remodels the collagen without heat. Removing heat from the equation makes for a safer, more comfortable treatment with a very low complication rate.

No heat also equals less downtime! Most Eclipse MicroPen™ patients are red for 24 hours or less. That advantage means you can get microneedling Longview performed on a Friday and be back to normal for work on Monday.
